Incoming! Pledge manager surveys are on their way
over 4 years ago – Fri, Nov 29, 2019 at 01:18:48 AM

In the next few days, you’ll receive an email from BackerKit, our pledge manager. This will confirm your pledge level and the amount you have paid so far via Kickstarter. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfil your rewards.

Using the survey, you will be able to:

1. Confirm your shipping address and pay for shipping.

2. Add and pay for any optional buys you wish to purchase.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the survey and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link using the "Lost your survey?" option on our BackerKit project page.

If you haven't received the survey from us in the next week, please check your junk mail/spam folder. If the email is not there, please contact us and we will look into it for you.

Thank you for a successful campaign!

Thanks to you – our amazing 2,239 backers (a PSC Games record!) – we are delighted to say that the Rome & Roll campaign is a success and the project has been successfully funded! Thank you very much indeed for supporting this unique roll and write eurogame.

So what happens now?

PSC Games’ next tasks are to:

  1. Prepare our pledge manager survey to send out to you all in the next few weeks. Using the pledge manager, you’ll be able to confirm your address and add optional buys, and the finalised shipping costs to your country will be shown.
  2. Finalise the changes unlocked by the Kickstarter stretch goals. We’ve factored in time for this already, so we hope this won’t add additional time to our production schedule.
  3. Send everything for the game to our manufacturer to get production under way. Our current target shipping date is May 2020.

Your tasks are to:

  1. Wait for the pledge manager survey, and then confirm your address, select and pay for any optional buys, and pay for your shipping. Please do this promptly as there is a tight turnaround between the Kickstarter ending and the game being delivered!
  2. That’s all!

We’ll post an update when we send the pledge manager survey, so you will know to check your email for it.

We’re going to keep you up to date with progress via occasional Kickstarter updates. We don’t want to overload you with constant updates, but we will ensure that you are sent our most important news between now and the shipping date.

Once again, thanks for getting behind our Kickstarter campaign and for helping to bring Rome & Roll into being. Expect to receive our pledge manager survey in the next couple of weeks.

What the previewers are saying about Rome & Roll
over 4 years ago – Tue, Nov 05, 2019 at 10:27:01 AM

Yesterday we shared some of the feedback that Rome & Roll received while in Essen. Today, with just a few days left in the campaign, we’re sharing a roundup of comments from others who have tried the game in prototype form.

In addition to the preview videos from Rahdo and Slickerdrips and the playthrough from Gaming Rules! on the campaign page, here’s what’s being said about Rome & Roll.

Quinns dropped this in the news google doc with the words ‘we’ve played this, and it’s good, if extremely heavy’, which is actually a heartier recommendation than the podcast pull-quote used on the campaign page. Maybe worth a look if you want to get your teeth into something chewy and Romey.

Ava, quoting Quinns, Shut Up & Sit Down

As the turns came together, it gave us something to work towards, and like any good game, it felt like the end came too soon. ... I wanted to, immediately, play again because now I had a winning strategy. Games should make us feel that way in my opinion. We should WANT to play again as soon as possible, and, I do.

Josh, Meeplegamers

It’s THINKY and sooo fun! I love drawing buildings on the main board and that each character board starts slightly different.

What makes Rome & Roll stand out over other roll & writes, as well as many euro games, is the player interactivity. ... What you will find in Rome & Roll is any action you do will affect another player in a positive way. ... All in all, everything feels satisfying, which is exactly what is needed to help break up the heavy analysis during the start of each round.

It’s a lot thinkier and chunkier than your grandmother’s roll and write.

Spiel '19 and a new stretch goal!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Nov 05, 2019 at 10:26:58 AM

Hello again Rome & Rollers,

The PSC Games team has returned from Spiel in Essen where Rome & Roll was demonstrated throughout the fair by designers Dávid Turczi and Nick Shaw, along with our wonderful demo team.

Feedback from both backers and those new to the game was overwhelmingly positive. Players said that the game really brings something new to the roll and write mechanic and that it felt like a good crunchy eurogame with lots of strategic choices.

If you were at Spiel and got a chance to play the game, please leave a comment here with your impressions of the game.

We've also updated the campaign with a new £50K stretch goal. Once reached, you'll unlock another Kickstarter exclusive - a set of additional dry-erase pens to put to good use as you rebuild Rome again and again!

Our £50K stretch goal has been unlocked!

Thanks everybody and well done - your support has unlocked our £50K stretch goal of an additional set of pens, exclusively for our Kickstarter backers. This means that you'll have a spare should you lose/break/accidentally eat one of the pens from the box.

We're heading into the final few days of the campaign, so if you've not yet come on board now's the time to pledge. We've unlocked a lovely bunch of KS Exclusives, available only to backers of our campaign.

Thanks again and we hope you all have a splendid weekend of gaming ahead of you!
